Choosing your subjects
At HC6 students follow a full-time timetable, therefore you will need to select a minimum of three subjects to study and a maximum of four.
You may choose to take a more traditional academic route, opting for three A-levels but you also have the freedom at HC6 to combine A -levels with Vocational subjects too.
It is important that you consider your subject choices thoroughly to ensure that they complement each other and your own academic strengths.
Moreover, it is also vital that you consider your goals for life after the Sixth Form as some University courses and career paths require specific A-level qualifications to gain entry onto them.
You will see at the bottom of each subject page that we have identified a list of complementary subjects to help guide you with this decision.
Please note: When selecting your three subjects you must ensure that they are not in the same block as one another. For instance, you could not select Maths and Sociology as they are both in Block A but you could select Maths, Psychology and Biology.
- Students who do not achieve a grade 4 in either English or Maths will be required to resit the subject.
- All courses are subject to available staffing and student numbers.
