Health and Social Care Vocational

Health is the only concern that affects everyone’s life. Studying the Health and Social Care course at HC6 will prepare you for a career within the care industry through in-depth analysis of a variety of job roles within the overarching sector.

The course will equip you with the experiences and knowledge that employers desire and seek when looking to appoint new colleagues.

Your lessons will be taught in our Health and Social care specialist room. This course fosters your ability to work within a team, taking on leadership roles and supporting others. You will develop your ability to meet deadlines and organise our time effectively so that you can manage both practical and theoretical tasks.

This is one of our most popular courses at HC6 and we have a superb track record of student achievement and progression our industry students directly have gone on to have careers in nursing, early years into the industry directly after sixth form or onto university to pursue the subject further. many of education and social work. 


Course details

Qualification: Level 3

Unit Titles: Functions of Health and Social Care, Human Growth and Development, Empowerment in Health and Social Care, Health Education, Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care. 

Key skills required: Essay writing, research and analytical skills, effective listening, develop the skill of reflection. 

Entry Requirements: Four Grade 4’s or above at GCSE level, including either English or Maths.

Work Experience: Miss Skipper is a qualified health care professional who has worked in hospitals, hospices, and care homes. Having worked in the care sector for numerous years, she has hands-on experience in leadership roles, as well as working to support geriatric patients and others with complicated needs. Her primary experience can be seen within her teaching. It underpins every lesson enabling her to inspire and support her students throughout the course.
